Application Tips:
 
1 .Surface Preparation
Ensure Proper Curing:
Confirm the concrete has cured sufficiently. Use a pressure washer (2000 psi or higher recommended) to clean the surface, removing dirt, grease, oil, or contaminants.
Remove Residue:
For loose cement and efflorescence, apply a diluted hydrochloric acid solution (9 parts water to 1 part acid) to etch the surface. Avoid letting the acid dry and thoroughly rinse with fresh water using a garden hose.
Drying:
Ensure the concrete is completely dry before sealing. Any residual moisture may cause the sealer to appear white and cloudy, compromise adhesion, or result in delamination.
 
2. Application
First Coat:
Mix 70% FastSteel Prime Exposure Coloured Sealer with 30% Prime Exposure Xylene to improve penetration into the concrete pores. Apply an even coat with a roller, avoiding pooling.
Drying Time:
Allow a minimum of 1 hour between coats (weather-dependent). For best results, wait 3-4 hours for the resin to harden before applying the second coat.
Second Coat:
Apply the second coat undiluted using a Viton Seal Spray Unit or roller. Generally, one diluted coat followed by two undiluted coats ensures optimal results.
Anti-Slip Option:
For areas where slip resistance is needed, consult your FastSteel stockist for Anti-Slip beads.
Curing Time:
Avoid driving on the sealed surface for 3-4 days to allow the resin to fully cure.
 
3. Resealing
Surface Prep:
Follow the same surface preparation steps. Once dry, apply a coat of Prime Exposure Xylene to reactivate existing sealer and enhance penetration.
Application:
After the Xylene dries, proceed with the standard sealing process.
