Our Prime Exposure One Coat Sealer is UV-resistant and provides exceptional protection for your concrete, shielding it from mold, stains, algae, moss, dirt, grime, and oils. Engineered to match the performance of a traditional two-coat process, it saves time and money while maintaining superior quality.
Prime Exposure One Coat Sealer enhances the look of decorative concrete, ensuring it stays fresh and vibrant for years to come.
Application Tips:
1. Curing and Cleaning
- Ensure the concrete is fully cured before applying the sealer.
- Use a pressure washer (minimum 2000 psi recommended) to thoroughly clean the surface, removing grease, oil, dirt, and other contaminants.
2. Etching
- For optimal results, acid-etch the surface with a solution of 9 parts water to 1 part hydrochloric acid.
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water using a garden hose to eliminate all acid residue.
- Avoid letting the acid dry on the surface. Allow the concrete to dry completely before applying the sealer.
Moisture Warning
- Residual moisture can cause the sealer to appear white or cloudy, prevent proper adhesion, and lead to delamination.
- Ensure the surface is completely dry before sealing.
3. Application
Surface Uniformity
- Check for consistent color across the concrete surface before applying FastSteel Prime Exposure One Coat Sealer.
- If discoloration or stains are present, repeat the cleaning process.
- Contaminants or efflorescence trapped under the sealer will remain visible.
Usage Restrictions
- Do not apply the sealer undiluted on flat-troweled, stippled, or unsealed slate impression concrete.
- It is specifically designed for neat application on unsealed exposed aggregate concrete.
Application Method
- Stir the sealer thoroughly before use.
- Use a high-quality roller to apply an even coat, avoiding pooling.
- The porous texture of exposed aggregate concrete allows proper penetration and adhesion.
Drying Time
- Allow the surface to cure for 3-4 days before driving on it to ensure the resin has fully hardened.
Dilution Option
- For other concrete types, dilute the sealer with 20% Xylene for effective use, similar to a standard sealing process.
4. Resealing
Surface Preparation
- Follow the same surface preparation steps as the initial application, ensuring the surface is completely dry.
Xylene Application
- Apply FastSteel Prime Exposure Xylene to reactivate any existing sealer and enhance penetration.
- Once the Xylene has dried, proceed with the standard sealer application.
